Veg put into veg（Project Nesting）
Hello gentlemen,
Firstly, I thank u all your kindness.
Now, I wonder which format to set for the nested project compare with final destination.
In Vegas Pro 11,
I will finally encode the project to “NTSC 24p wide-screen” 24bit video fotmat.
Basically movie data is shot by AVCHD 1920×1080 60i and HDV.
I set up with NTSC 24p wide-screen 24bit for the main project(main.veg).
There are several sub projects (sub1.veg,sub2.veg), which contains mix movie data format like HDV, AVCHD…
MAIN.veg has these sub1.veg sub2.veg as nested together with other movie data in another timeline.
My question is which format I should set for the sub project file.
Should it be the same for the final encoding format or it does not matter?
Or perhaps, is it relating the editing performances or final encoding qualities?
Please kindly advice me shortly, and thanks deeply in advance.

Again, I set my project to reflect the format of my footage and THEN when finished editing I get Vegas to encode.
To add some thought to your added comment, “…or does not matter” well, it does. If you consider if Vegas, while you are editing is needing to continually reformat your footage to allow you to “view” your edits, according to what you’ve set your Project Settings at, this could choke Vegas and you’d get less than an ideal editing experience. It would be slowed down.
I keep my Vegas editing workflow very simple. I set my Project, or nested projects to match my original footage. I’ve extended this over the years to making sure I have bought or borrow cameras that WILL produce a more Vegas-friendly editing format experience. In the event I really can’t do anything about it, I will pre-render any “difficult” or non-project compliant footage to the main project. Yes I realise/know that is blasphemous, Vegas being format agnostic and and all, but even so, why should I need to hobble Vegas with giving it more work than needs be, when what I want to do is get creative with that footage? Makes sense? Look, there are few occasions when Vegas can cope with anything that is thrown at. Many years ago I demoed Vegas at a branch of the BBC just to show how EASY it was to mix ‘n match footage. Yes they were blown away. But I don’t need to do that exercise on a daily basis. Likewise for yourself, just ‘cos Vegas CAN do something extraordinary, why pursue this when you really don’t need too?
