  • Using Vegas Pro 10 in place of CD Architect is there any tutorials?

Hello to the group, I hope I am posting this question in the proper forum.. I use Vegas Pro 10 in our studio (recording) for my multi-track editor, and I use Soundforge pro 10 for my two track needs.. For years, I have used Sony CD Architect for mastering my projects and burning CDs but I think it’s time to move that to Vegas.

The problem I have is that CA only uses DX plugins and that means the last version of Waves that would work is Waves 6… Were way past that now… I think were at 8 currently so, it is VST and no DX plugs.. that leaves me high and dry on CDA.

Over the years I’ve been told that Vegas can be used the same way as CDA although I’ve been reading the manual and it’s not quite as simple as CDA unless I’m missing something.. Are any of you on the forum using Vegas for mastering and burning production CD’s in place of CDA..

If anyone has an alternative program to CDA on Windows 7 or xp I’d be willing to take a look.

Thanks in advance.. Sorry if this is in the wrong place..

Its not the wrong place Dave. Vegas is absolutely perfect for
burning CD’s at any level. Vegas and sometimes Ashampoo Burning Studio
is what i uses for all my CD burning needs. I retired CD Architect
    long ago.

Steve, thanks for the reply and the heads up on the Ashamp software, I’ll check it out..

Perhaps Im missing it I use CDA once I finish a project and on a current project I have on sequencing a list of songs. In this I have a number of processes I do on the files individually and then make up the disc. On CDA it gives me the ability to write text on the finished disc… I put the song name and the artist for each song so it shows up while playing on a CD player.

I did bring up Vegas and then brought several CD tracks up on the timeline.. I can individually edit and clean up with all my VST’s and that is great and thanks for the suggestion. Now is there a way (like with CDA) to write Songs and Artists on the finished CD?

I hope I am explaining my usage well enough… And thanks again for your response…
    Dave

Unfortunately Vegas doesnt have that CD labeling feature by itself.
