create infinite loops in Vegas 10
Hi
Im trying to make an multiscreen video presentation with a video of someone walking in the background as a loop, so it looks like they are continuously walking while other events are happening around them.
Does anyone know how to create a loop that continues to loop while other events can be happening aroound it such as animated text while not continuing to be in Vegas?
NOTE: this is not like a DVD set to play forever, as this will only be a small part of the video, and this will be played outside of Vegas, so the looping bracket wont work…

If you could get the timing right where the last frame almost matches the first then you could create a subclip and stretch it out as long as you want. But all this is done within Vegas, so I don’t quite follow your meaning.

I think I follow you. I would shoot the person walking against a large blank wall, preferably a greenscreen. Then look for two nearly identical frames, for example when the right foot hits the ground, then cut that out and loop it. Dropping out the background would be more difficult because I am sure that a 24-ft greenscreen is in your budget. You could rotoscope each frame. Export the event only as a JPEG sequence then use something like Photoshop and Topaz Remask to drop out the background.

I already have the footage, and its footage of someone walking towards the camera. I am trying to loop that scene so that at a certain point it looks like he is walking in place. I am assuming the best way would be to set the footage to loop so that it can achieve the effect.
Ideally if it does work, I can put it on a track and then have other things on other tracks, like moving text,etc.
Let me know if I can be clearer.

That’s a tough one. You can try splitting an event of just where you want the person walking, just one or two steps. Use event pan/crop to keep the person the same size during that event.
