Thread Visibility
Posted by Tyson Onaga on August 7, 2012 at 9:37 pmJust wondering if COW will fix the thread visibility issue where posts by newbies are only visible if you are not logged in. I’ve seen several threads that the wiz-bangs here could probably answer in a flash but they’re only visible if you’re not logged into COW.

August 7, 2012 at 9:49 pmIs that’s what’s happening?
You know, the other day I saw a post that I was going to answer but I couldn’t answer until I signed in and once I signed in I couldn’t find the post anymore!!! I thought I was going crazy… (ok so I could still be going crazy but you know what I mean) 😉
I would send an email to the Web Admin and I’m sure they will look into it.

August 9, 2012 at 2:25 pm[Abraham Chaffin] “You can turn it off in your account settimgss. It’s called “Hide Newbe Posts.””
I’m sorry but I can’t find it. When tab is this setting under? Core, Profile, Extra, Subscriptions, Services, or Events?
With all due respect to it’s intent, this seems like a ridiculous setting for forum moderators. If moderators don’t want to answer newbe questions, perhaps they shouldn’t be moderators.

August 9, 2012 at 3:12 pmIt’s under the core tab. You might discuss your site suggestions in the COWmunications forum, in the thread I referenced earlier, where your feedback will get proper attention.
