  • No Sony AVC/MVC option when rendering Project.

Vegas Pro version 10.0c (Build 469). Im using a Kodak playsport cam, gen 2, set to 720×60. I want to render a clip for youtube and when I follow every “how to” I see they all want you to use Sony AVC/MVC but my option dont show up. I am setting my project options as they do in the video but I still dont see that option. Thanks for your help.

The latest build of Pro 10 was 10.0e (lots of bug fixes).
Is there a reason you haven’t upgraded to it?

I can try to update. Will that solve my problem you think?

I have no idea if it will help or not but it’s always a good idea.
If that doesn’t solve your problem, try a re-install of Vegas as I do AVC renders all the time.

Oh my sweet Lord, tried to upgrade, it all looked fine, no errors and then vegas will not load at all… I removed it, reloaded the original version I had, that one will not work either…, removed that one, used the new one, wont work either….. Im glad I always make backups before doing any changes to any software I cant live without and 4 hours later I am back with a working system… I have a few other pc’s so I am going to try a few more scenarios and see if I have the same problem in those…. That is why I never ever upgrade unless I have a good reason (this one sounded like a good reason).

Now, this is interesting, I can see sony avc on its own and it has the same extension as what you have in your screen shot but not the MVC part in the name… Could it be that the option only shows when using a particular file format?

After much wrk I realized my mistake was to install the newer version on top of the old one. I should had uninstall the old version. It is all good know and have the right options in the render as options. Upgrading did solve the problem!
    Thanks!

Glad to hear that you got it to work.
I still can’t figure out why you had so many problems updating it.
All I’ve ever done is install the new release over top of the old one and I’ve never had any problems.

Me either. What lead me to remove the old version was that when i tried to reinstall the initial installation the software did asked me to remove the original installation. I at any rate, is working now!
