Any Mulit Cam software out there that allows any media corrections (pan/crop etc) to be maintained when creating a multicam track? I’ve gotten used to having to either make adjustments on the media level (does not apply for Pan/Cop) or selecting events. Very tedious and a time waster of course. Why does Vegas not allow this?

I’d also like to be able to expand the tracks again or at least maintain them and not lose them into one track.

    Thanks as always

Have you looked at these, they all have MultiCam features:

The workflow I use is to make color adjustments at the media level, duplicate the camera tracks and mute the duplicates (saving them for later, if needed). Select the tracks for multicam and make the multicam track. Turn on multicam and edit.

If you need to make some event-level adjustments across many events on the timeline, then use FX packages. Set the event FX the way you want them then save them as an FX Package. Then just apply the FX package to each event where you want to replicate the FX.

It would be nice if you could do this before chopping up the track, but that just isn’t how events work.

I already do the FX at the media level I was hoping ( have not looked at the links yet) that being able to keep any crop/pan\, FX edits when creating the multicam track.

Does the suggested software provide this? My events are multi cam shoots for hours at a time so I need a time saver in post. Thanks as always.

I don’t know about the others. It’s been a few years since I used either of them. I’ve settled on the Vegas multicam and just do my edits early in the workflow.

After you have combined your camera tracks into the multicamera track you can do your edits. When you are finished you can expand the multicam track back to individual tracks. This will create as many video tracks as you have multicam angles and place selected clips on each track. You can then apply any corrections to these tracks and that should sort you out. You can of course also select one of the cameras at event level to correct after the edit. This will then trickle down to any related events on the timeline.

    Hope that helps
