I know this sounds like a silly question, but Vegas is giving me grief.

I have a project that so far is 4 clips. I want to view in say, Draft/Full quality. But I also wanted to try other settings to see how far I could push without jitters. Now what is happening is that I have the playback jumping from draft full to draft half and back again, etc. I have tried selecting everything and setting the PQ. I have tried sel3ecting individual clips and setting. But often as soon as I start play again it jumps to another setting.

If I go to Preview, Auto, that seems to stick throughout, but draft full was fine, and during transitions there is no jitter. But whatever really, I just want to be able to experiment without getting this absurd chopping and changing. It almost seems to set key frames or something.

So how do I set the PQ across the entire project?

    Thanks for any help

right click on preview window. untick “adjust size and quality for optimal playback”. then you can set a quality setting at top of window and it will stay where you put it. ed

Do as Eddie mentioned and keep
adjust size and quality for optimal playback off at all times.

Well thanks guys! That option seems to be about confusion than any logic that I could see! 🙂 But yeah that fixed it.
