I am pretty much having no luck with preserving the absolute best quality of the GH2 footage, unless I render to .avi which ends up being a 20gig 3 minute clip. I have tried the avid codec, and still no luck. Also when I try to render to MPEG-2 in Veg. 11 I get some kind of error, but no error in Veg. 10. I have tried to render to bluray and tried just about every combination of rendering options you can imagine. Any suggestions?

Without know what your final delivery format is (Internet?, DVD?, Blu-ray disc?), it’s hard to recommend a codec to render to. There is no reason why MPEG-2 should give you an error in Vegas Pro 11.0 (it works fine for me). I would try and figure out what’s wrong with your PC (unless you have changed the parameters to be something that is illegal for MPEG-2) You should not be getting errors.

You mean you can’t render your project to any codec? What was wrong with Avid codec? DNxHD is an industry standard delivery format that is very high quality – I render out of Vegas to that often. You can try the free Cineform software – probably the best compressed codec on the planet. I would also try XDCAM 50Mb 422 which runs great in Vegas.
