I have been using Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 11.0 to edit a project using Sony AVCHD files and would like to burn it to a Blu Ray disc without losing much quality (if any). I shot the footage in 1080/60i and the total bitrate for each clip is around 22448kbps. There are also music files (along with the video clips)in my project- from iTunes that are 265kbps.

The two rendering options I’m looking at in Sony vegas are:

    1)Mainconcept Blu-Ray 1920×1080-60i, 25 Mbps

    2)Sony AVC Blu-Ray 1920×1080-60i, 16 Mbps

Which template would you recommend for me to not lose any quality of video OR audio? I will be using Sony DVD Architect Studio 5.0 to setup and burn the Blu-Ray disc.

Also……when I open the “properties” in Sony DVD Architect….the Bit Rate is set to 18.000 for Blu Ray. Depending on what rendering template I choose…..do I also need to change the bit rate setting in DVD architect? If so…to what?

If anyone has any advice, I would really appreciate it!

Generally higher bitrate = better quality. Main concept is a good encoder.

I use Vegas Pro so I’m not positive but I also believe in this case MainConcept= Mpeg2, Sony AVC= AVC which would explain the bitrate difference.
