  • Error during batch render

    Hi all,

I’m trying to use the batch render script in Sony Vegas. I’ve got a series of regions set up on the timeline. When I run the batch render script, Vegas will render the first region fine but then halts with this error:

Warning: An error occurred while creating the media file Clip1.m2tsSony AVC-MVC_ 1920×1080-60i.m2ts.
    A device does not exist.

    Details:

The playback device Microsoft Sound Mapper does not support the current output format.
The playback device Microsoft Sound Mapper does not exist.
The playback device Microsoft Sound Mapper does not support the current output format.
The playback device Microsoft Sound Mapper does not exist.

I click OK and behind it is another error window:

An error ocured during the execution of the script C:Program FilesSonyVegas Pro 11.0Script MenuBatch Render.cs.

    Exception thrown by method called.

Details: If the detail is important, I’ll try to grab it next time the error occurs.

I don’t use the soundcard on this system. I’m using a USB wireless stereo headset for audio playback. I tried all three options for the audio device setting in the Vegas preference: Microsoft Sound Mapper, Direct Sound Surround Mapper and Windows Classic Wave Driver. I get the same error for all three except for the name of the sound mapper.

Anybody familiar with this problem and know of a solution?

    Thank you.

Are there differences between the first and second regions regarding audio tracks? Does the second region use an audio track mapped to a bad device?

Not that I can see. The whole timeline has the same project properties. I don’t know how to set audio tracks to different audio devices so whatever that is its been left to default. Besides, after rendering region 1, I deleted region 1 and ran the script again. It rendered region 2 successfully and gave me the same error. Deleted region 2 and ran the script again. It rendered region 3 successfully and gave me the error again and so on and so forth.

Looks like my reply wound up in the either…

This is probably a script issue. Paste the description of the script here (version, author, etc.)

Maybe Mike Kujbida can send you a better version. He is one of the best at scripts here.

Jeff, I wish I could help but I’m still on Pro 10 and have only used the batch render script that comes with that version of Vegas.

I’m using the script that came with Vegas, not a custom script. It appears to be something with my machine. Either a hardware or software issue because I tried it on my other system and it works flawlessly.

    This one got me puzzled.
