  The XDCAM disc import process failed.

  That’s the message I get when I try to import files from my PDW-700 camera to Vegas Pro 11.

  I used to use firewire to import but since I bought a new laptop I’ve had to change to Ethernet.

  I can import using a 3rd party FTP program (FileZilla) but even then there’s a funny thing going on; I connect to the camera and the FileZilla sees it fine. I drag the files I want to copy to the destination folder but nothing happens unless I hit the “disconnect” button from the dropdown “server” menu. And then the transfer begins!

  My Vegas is Build 521 and the firmware on the camera is Package 1.71 which is the latest available.

  My computer is a Samsung with an Intel i5 chip and running Windows 7 Version: 6.01.7601 (Service Pack 1)

  Anybody know what’s going on?

  Since I first posted I’ve updated my Vegas Pro 11 to Build 595 which is the latest version. Hasn’t helped though…

  I’ve also tried a Cat 5 crossover cable. No success:(

  Hi Sydney, I read over your post very quickly and hope I didn’t miss anything but have you tried using the XDCAM Explorer in Vegas to import your clips?

  I didn’t explain too clearly. Yes that was exactly what I was trying to do so that I could conform to the HD files later on. As it is, it looks like I’ll have to manually change each file for it’s HD version.
