    Hi guys,

This may be simple – but I have been battling with this for a few days now, and there is very limited info available online, and what help there is hasn’t helped me at all.

Is this possible in Vegas? –

I am trying to do the 2:35.1 aspect ratio for a Vimeo video in Vegas. Unfortunately, it’s either appearing far too narrow on Vimeo, or with black bars (which I don’t want) or it’s looking distorted. I have been doing the whole trial-and-error thing now for quite some time and am still nowhere near to figuring out what I need to do.

Could someone talk me through it step by step? Also, when I go to pan/crop there is no 2:35 preset, only 1.85.

    Thanks for any help.

Does Vimeo support this aspect ratio?
Yes, it is possible in Vegas. You must set your project to 2.35:1 aspect ratio (eg. 1280×544), then go to Pan/Crop settings of every clip and run Match Output Aspect command in the context menu. Finally, you need to create the appropriate render template and render. Voila!

Hi there – yes, https://vimeo.com/10314280 is a fantastic Philip Bloom video with this particular aspect ratio.

When you say I need to create the appropriate render template, what are the specifics? Are my render settings the same as my project properties (ie: should I be rendering at 1280×540)?

Yes (Frame size: 1280×544, Pixel Aspect Ratio: 1.0, FPS: your source FPS)
