  • How do I put lots of videos in one video?

Posted by Davy Cassidy on February 18, 2012 at 6:21 pm

So the title probably made no sense, but it was the only way I could describe it.
So I have an idea for a video and what I need to do is divide the screen into 6 different boxes, each one containing a different video.

    I_I_I_I
I_I_I_I <-like that. if you can work it out

    any help is appreciated, thankyou!

You will need a combination of Track Motion and Pan/Crop events.
    Given a 1920×1080 workspace:

    Track Motion
    1. -640, 270, 960, 540 (x, y, w, h)
    2. 0, 270, 960, 540
    3. 640, 270, 960, 540
    4. -640, -270, 960, 540
    5. 0, -270, 960, 540
    6. 640, -270, 960, 540

That will give you 6 tracks in which to fit your clips.
Assuming you have videos all the same size (eg, 1920×1080), each clip needs a mask event.

Mask, 4 coordinates of the rectangle:
    320, 0 … 1600, 0 … 1600, 1080 … 320, 1080

this will make a rectangular mask that. You will be able to fit 3 across in a 1920 space.

If your videos are different sizes, then you need to adjust the Mask values and Track values accordingly.
