Combing or copy/paste projects
It must be quite a time since I used some features because I don’t seem to be able to do some things as I recall. I seem to recall doing a copy & paste between projects by doing a CTRL A copy of first timeline & then doing a paste onto a new timeline. When I try this now I notice that the chapter markers aren’t copied. Did I do something wrong or have things changed? I’m using Vegas 10.
The other thing that I recall is having a project on the timeline & then click open & being able to drag another veg file onto the timeline & have it open where I wanted it. Is there some setting that I missed?
Any help would be apprecieated.

Chapter markers aren’t copied. Render it out in a format that supports markers and won’t degrade your video and drag it into the new timeline. Click Tools > Scripting > Promote Media Markers. You can also drag the old .veg project file (from the same version of Vegas) into a new project’s timeline… but Vegas will want to render it once you do this.

I would have liked to be able to just drag an another veg files onto the timeline immedieately after the end of the current project. I go to file>open tab select another veg file & drag it onto the timeline but nothing happens. Is there some special tecnique for doing this?

You need to import the veg file into an existing project.

I’m doing file>import>media & then selecting a veg file & click open. One or the other of 2 things happens. The little twirling circle goes for a few seconds & stops or I see that the the program is builing peaks. In either case nothing happenns to the timeline. Only the original timeline data appears.
Maybe I should just do a reinstall of the program since I’m also having a display problem as well inasmuch as if I have have the cursor at the end of the timeline & double click the preview window disapears.
