more mp4 audio/video sync woes
Hi everyone,
once again I’m having this issue.
I render to Sony AVC 720P. I can view the video perfectly, however, on the client’s PC, the video/audio are out of sync.
This has happened with other clients as well.
any ideas?

Ok…Here is what i sometimes try…Simply render out
in the Quicktime Photo-jpeg format. Then drop back that
format unto the timeline and then final render out as
Sony AVC.

I’m trying to work efficiently and would rather not render twice if at all possible.
just had another user on a MAC view it perfectly on quicktime. so strange.
Have you experienced this before?

Are your client’s computers so underpowered that they can’t handle the file?

Anything’s possible. It’s been so long since I’ve used an underpowered computer that I honestly have no idea.
In addition to Steve’s idea, the only other suggestions I can make is to either lower your bitrate on the 720P version (if the quality hit is acceptable) or offer them a lower res version (Internet 640P).

Which bitrate would you suggest I try with to begin?

Gilles, the preset you’re using has a bitrate of 8,000,000
Customize it by dropping it down 1,000,000 at a time until it gets to a point where you don’t like the final quality and use the next one up from there.
Hopefully a lower bitrate version will play on your client’s PC. -
