why is my uploaded Youtube video playing ‘choppy”?
Hey Cowsters!
I rendered a video using main concept 720p avg rate 8M, max 10M.
I then uploaded it to Youtube.
when I watch the video, it “skips” often and doesn’t play smoothly throughout.What could be the culprit?

Gilles, why not use Sony AVC, there was never an
issue gone wrong using that method for YouTube.Steve Rhoden

No choppiness here Gilles. Maybe it takes YT a little while to smooth things out.
BTW, great video. That must have been a tough yet very rewarding one to shoot. -

I’m up for trying that one. It’s just that a few months back I was using SONY AVC for a render and the client’s videos/audio was out of sync when played in Quicktime. a MainC render had no sync issues.Which settings would you reccomend to render to Youtube in Sony AVC?

No skips at all on full screen 720p HD and I’m only on a standard DSL line (4 Mbps).
I’ve had the privilege & pleasure of doing a few similar interviews over the years and it always restores my belief in the strength of human nature. -

Hi Mike,
you may be correct on YT perhaps taking some time to smooth things out as I can now view it on my laptop (slower inet connection than my desktop) quite smoothly.

Gilles, I’m with Steve in that anything I give to my marketing department is rendered using the Sony AVC Internet 1280×720-30p preset.
I’d love to show you some stuff but they’re very far behind getting material uploaded 🙁
