    the background is grey and the text is black, would like to change the backround of Vegas

    Go to PreferencesDisplay tab – and uncheck Use Vegas color scheme.

    Thanks for your reply. Next issue, I am trying to make a video from about 30 or so video clips. When I only add 4 or so I can see and edit the clips. As I add more clips they get compressed where they all try to show in the same area. How can I control the time line to show a fraction of the time line.

    Here are 3 different ways to do it.
    #1. If you have a mouse with a wheel, use it to zoom in/out on the timeline.
    #2. Use the +/- symbols at the bottom right of the timeline window.
    #3. Use the up/down arrows to zoom in/out on the timeline.
