  Real time overlay on slow-motion video

  I recorded a video at 240 fps (5 seconds long) on a Casio camera. It saves the file as a 40 second clip (which means it slowed it down 8x)

  Now in Vegas, I want to play this 40 second clip but I want to overlay the original time with seconds: milliseconds

  With the time-code overlay I get 40 seconds, but even though it plays for 40 seconds, I need the clock to act like it is in slow motion for a total of 5 seconds. Does this make sense?

  The purpose this fulfills is that I am measuring a golf swing. I need to know the exact time at the different parts of the swing. So I need to see the numbers go from 01:10, 01:15, 01:20 etc., or even greater precision.

  I understand that I can put a clock in front of the camera, but is there a way in Vegas. Thanks for your ideas.

  I think what you’ll have to do, unless there’s a quicker way, is to render out a clip of the timecode running, using control and pulling the end of the clip to make it slow down.

  That, or just use the Save Snapshot function right where it’s at each time you want, then put the pictures together on the timeline. You’ll have to do it for each picture and place it at every five seconds, but it’ll do it, and it’s the quickest way I can think of.
