I guess this is very basic, but I can’t figure out how to do it: I want a small picture placed in the right corner on a blue back-ground. If I put the picture on the timeline with a blue background on the track below, the picture fills the screen from top to bottom with some blue background left and right. This I understand. If I pan/crop it gets smaller, but the placement is limited by the left and right borders of the original photo. How can I put the small picture anywhere on the screen?

I tried to do this with PIP (VASST plugin), but whatever placement I choose, the picture is always in the middle.

You either need to change the pan/crop aspect ratio to match the project (Right-click on the pan/crop window and select “Match Output Aspect) or use track motion to move/scale the picture.

Not to distort the image you need to use track motion – which is moving the layer anywhere on the screen/zooming in without cropping (not to be confused with motion tracking)

    Track motion all the way.
Just click on it and move your picture or any file to wherever you want.

Track motion is, indeed, what I needed. Thanks a lot!
