  • DVD Architect: Error: Only allowed to have 99 unique titles

    Hey guys,

I am creating a DVD that has Trivia on it. There are 5 categories and about 40 questions per category. Each question consists of about 1 minute of video. I wanted to keep each question separate so that I could have the End Action set to return to main category menu. (I then have a counter for each category so they don’t have the same question just FYI). I ran into an issue of only being allowed to have 99 unique titles. Huge problem for me since I have roughly 200. So I did my research and it looks like the only possible solution is to render 1 large file of all 40 questions for each category then drag it into Architect 40 times to create separate instances of the same file. Then rename each instance to the question, and then create in and out points for each instance at the beginning and end of the question. Apparently Architect only sees all 40 instances as 1 file?? Is there an easier way to get what I want accomplished??

    Please help! Thanks,

    Chris

“I ran into an issue of only being allowed to have 99 unique titles”

This is a limitation of the DVD spec.

“Apparently Architect only sees all 40 instances as 1 file??”

This is a feature – not a bug. It allows the user versatility in the playback by having a different in-out points. It wouldn’t take very long to fill the DVD with duplicate media.

Because of the limitations of the DVD spec, your solution is probably the best one.
