    Hi All,

I have some trail camera footage that i wanted to make a short video with. When i import the video, it says its a Sony Motion JPEG, 14 frames/second in a .AVI container. All I get is a black screen. Any suggestions?

    Thanks,
    John

    [John Griffin] “Any suggestions?”

    Don’t buy that camera. 😉

Seriously… if Vegas can’t read the camera’s footage, it’s not a good camera to own if you plan to edit the footage in Vegas. Motion-JPEG is a very popular format but 14fps seems a bit low. You can try converting it to another format with an external program but Sony should handle M-JPEG without any problems so the camera looks like the problem.

Understand. But what gets me is that it will play in Quicktime, VLC, and Windows Media Player. Normally if it plays in these, Vegas can handle it.

Sometimes camera manufacturers don’t follow the specifications closely when writing their files and some programs are more sensitive to these changes than others. You might want to ask Sony if they support this particular cameras output.
