Dealing with different “frame rates” in the same project
Hello,
I am having difficulties to comprehend how to deal with various videos with different “frame rates” in the same project.
For instance, I have an video with 23.976 fps (Video Codec: XviD ISO MPEG-4). Other video has 24.974 fps (H.264/MPEG-4 AVC). Considering I will use videos with different fps in same project, is Vegas able to handle it in a transparent way for the user? Or could I be aware about it, proceeding with video conversions etc.?

Vegas can handle multiple frame rates without any problems. What it will have a problem with is the XviD video. Vegas doesn’t support XviD and you will have problems if you start editing with it. You should convert that video to another format before using in Vegas.

After installing Xvid codec direct from https://www.xvid.org Vegas have began to work properly with these videos. Before that Vegas couldn’t even read the video files. Nevertheless, do you think it is necessary convert this type of video yet, once Vegas now is reading it?
Anyway, do you recommend any software for converting?
And being clearer about my project, most of the videos I will handle have a plenty of different formats and fps (320×240-25fps / 608×336-23.9fps / 1280×720-29,9fps / 1920×1080-29,9fps). I was insecure if I could put all together inside Vegas and it seems that is possible. So, should I configure my Vegas project with the same configuration of the highest quality video (1920×1080-29,9fps), isn’t it? The rest of the work will be with Vegas, isn’t it?

Yes, because your next problem is that your project won’t render correctly because of the XviD source files. Trust me on this one. Vegas doesn’t support XviD so don’t use it for anything except a final render for delivery.

I’ve had good luck with AviDemux. Here are the suggested settings:

I would set it to match your delivery format (whatever that is)
