DVD Architect – error preparing Blu Ray image – [MUX_SN_E_IO]
Posted by Danick Sierras on December 28, 2011 at 5:49 pmDVD Architect Studio 5 (build 157)
I am getting an error message during the preparing stage of creating a Blu Ray movie. The message states:An error occurred while preparing compilation
File name: N/A
Status: StatusCodeTable.xml Err Status Code :[MUX_SN_E_IO]To duplicate the problem, I created a 2 minute test video with Vegas Movie Studio. The properties of the test video were:
Video: Main Concept MPEG-2 (Blu ray 1920×1080-60i, 25 mbps)
Audio: Dolby Digital AC-3 StereoThis created two files
Test 01.m2v
Test 01.ac3Opened DVD Architect
Clicked Make Blu Ray Disc
Clicked Prepare
After the rendering is complete, the error occurs during preparing stage.Changed the properties in Architect to DVD
Clicked Make DVDRendering took a little longer, but completed successfully.
This error does not occur in Vegas Movie Studio as I was able to create a Blu Ray image using Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum Version 11 (Build 283).
I also sent this error message to Sony, but wanted to see if anyone here had any ideas on this error.
Thanks.

December 31, 2011 at 8:55 pmStill haven’t heard anything from Sony on this issue.
But I checked other sites and noticed this thread on the Sony Creative Forum – DVD Architect Software:https://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/forums/ShowMessage.asp?MessageID=776390&Replies=12
These people are having the exact same issue with DVD Architect Studio when trying to make a Blu Ray disc on a Windows 7 64 bit OS. And the post is over 3 months old!!!
I can’t believe that Sony has not fixed this bug yet.
For those of you working on a Windows 7 Pro – 64 bit OS, do yourself a favor and stay away from this software. It’s turning out to be a very expensive coaster for me.

January 10, 2012 at 3:26 amI am also having this problem. One thing I have resorted to doing, all the way from Vegas Movie Studio, is to create a very short piece of footage to iron this out. I can not continue to wait three hours for a render, then six hours for the error message (or not.) One thing I am considering is to investigate the “An error occurred while preparing compilation” notice at the top of the error notification.
This is eating me up. I am trying to perfect this so I can add “BluRay slideshow” to my product line.
When, and if I find a solution, I WILL be back to spread the joy.

January 10, 2012 at 4:09 pmSince yesterday, I have burned successfully, a two hour long movie to a BluRay disc using the Vegas file and the Arcsoft application that was shipped with my Digistor burner, without incident. The video file is in an .avi container. So where this takes me is that I see the [MUX_SN_E_IO] issue as a DVD Architect issue exclusively.
Meaning that the original render of the video from Vegas Movie Studio was the right configuration or the Arcsoft Total Media app has the resolution to the issue.
As is everyone else, I am waiting for SONY to step up to the plate and knock it out of the park.
Arcsoft does not allow inclusion of user created graphics other than the menu background.
What is really baffling to me is that when I received shipment of the Digistor deck last month, I proceeded to create and burn a BluRay disc of old Superman episodes, 6 in all. There was no issue. Then I formatted my hard drive this month and now have the [MUX_SN_E_IO] issue.

January 21, 2012 at 4:15 pmHey all. I created a ticket at SCS about this issue. It appears that they do not know about it or are working on it and have not found a solution or haven’t published it yet. Also, find the image/screen capture I submitted.
The following is my submission to them:
“After rendering in Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum 11.0 (283) and attempting to burn to BluRay disc in DVD Architect Studio 5.0 (157) using a DIGISTOR ‘DIG-79102 BD/DVD WRITER’ I receive the following error:
“An error occurred while preparing compilation [OK] [No Details]
File name: N/A
Status: StatusCodeTable.xml Error Code:[MUX_SN_E_IO]”
I have searched the internet extensively and have found many forums with other users experiencing the same issue. Is there a resolution I have not discovered or is this an issue your programming team is working on?
Thank you for you attention to this issue.
Kelly Basden”We can only hope for the best. I’m on it with you all.
God bless,

January 25, 2012 at 11:29 pmOk, here’s my final opinion. I have applied every “fix” found and known to man and have no joy. I have removed DVD Arch, applied the .NET fix, reinstalled to build 128 (out of the box) and no solution. This will have to come from SONY. My only hope is that it is a fix, that if they decide to apply the fix to the next version, current owners receive a huge discount, if not a free installation.
This is a major fail on SONY’s part. Unbelievable. I highly doubt that I will continue to use their products.
I will continue to seek a solution and when/if I find one, I will post it.

February 14, 2012 at 7:26 pmAfter many emails with SONY, I received a bit of promising info today.
One of the correspondents at SCS sent this to me, after we have been in this conversation over the last month. Looks like they are taking it seriously, but who knows for sure. She mentions an issue with Vegas Pro, but then, maybe the issue IS actually starting there.
“Hi Kelly,
Thank you for writing back.
There was a similar issue reported through our internal database last year relating to Blu-ray .ISO creation in Vegas Pro 10. It was suggested that this problem may have had something to do with a problem in the StatusCodeTable.xml file. Because that issue was reported for Vegas Pro, rather than DVD Architect Studio, I am doing a bit more digging to see if it is the same problem. I will get back to you as soon as I have more information, and troubleshooting steps. In the meantime, I will set this incident to Development status so it does not automatically set itself to Resolved after a period of inactivity.
If you still have a follow-up question on this particular incident, please feel free to update it. If you have a completely different question, please create a new incident.
Sincerely,
Emily B.

February 15, 2012 at 8:30 pmIf you look at one of the links in my previous posts, you will see that this error has already been reported to Sony as of Sep 8, 2011. Here is a link to that thread.
https://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/forums/ShowMessage.asp?MessageID=776390&Replies=16
It will show you that the problem can only be fixed by Sony in the same way they had already fixed the their DVD Architect Pro version which had exactly the same problem.
Here is an excerpt of one of the posts:

I can tell you that it is definitely a Studio version problem.
I tried the Pro version and it worked flawlessly. Just make sure to save your project with a different name cause you will not be able to open it with Studio.
I’ve since un installed the Pro version as I only make home movies every once in a while. (Actually I accumulate my home videos on my hard drive all year long so I can burn just one Blu Ray at the end of the year). So I can wait for an update to Studio. There is no way I’m going to spend that much money on an upgrade that I don’t even need.Just can’t believe that Sony is just ignoring my e-mails about their software not working as stated on the packaging. And I’m not going spend more money on phone support for something that only they can fix with an update. Hopefully they’ll have it fixed by the time I’m ready to burn another Blu Ray.

February 16, 2012 at 6:20 pmI have a solution for this issue. This works, I just tried it successfully. I just went through it and successfully created an .iso image as well as burned to a BD.
Here’s a link to the instructions. This will require a full uninstall of all SONY software as well as deleting registry keys. If you do not feel comfortable with this, have a proficient computer user do it for you. If you decide to continue with this solution, just take it slowly. It worked for me, so I know it is a practical solution.

March 4, 2012 at 2:47 pmKelly,
Great to hear that you were able to fix the problem.
I may also try starting from scratch with a fresh install of everything. I had already tried this once with DVDA Studio only without touching any other Sony programs, MS .net apps, or the registry keys. But if it worked for you, then it might indeed be a corrupt installation as Sony has been stating all along.Would you be able to take a screen shot of your working DVDA Studio 5.0 Program Files folder and post it here or send it to me by email? I’d like to compare it to mine to see if anything is missing.
Thanks

March 4, 2012 at 3:09 pmSure, here you go. The two statuscodetable files were the ones that SONY was interested in. When I first brought this to SONY’s attention, they wanted to know if they were there. As was suspected, they were not. Anyway, this is a folder shot of my fully functional DVD Architect Pro 5.2 installation.
