Activity Forums VEGAS Pro Question regarding video replay load time and quality

    Gurus,
I’ve produced over a dozen training videos for my company so far, all using Vegas Pro (currently using 10). We host all the videos on our company website, so when our vendors need to use access the videos for training, they log in, then run them directly off our site. The problem we are having is regarding access times. All the videos are in .wmv format, and range from 300 – 700MB in size. They look fantastic, but take too long to load when viewing on the website. I tried converting to Flash using Super, but the video quality goes way down.

For all my projects, I use the HDV 720-30p (1280×720,29.970fps) Template.
When rendering, I use the =6 Mbps HD 720-30p Video Template

Does anyone have any suggestions? We would prefer to keep the videos high-def, but don’t want our vendors to deal with the slow load times.
    Thanks!

You have to give away some video quality if you want small file size for faster downloads. You can’t have both.

Try Sony AVC/MVC codec. It includes several Internet settings to choose from. Try them and see the size/quaility correlation that you consider acceptable.
