Im attempting to do the stroke effect in after effects cs4 on a logo with a very bold font. Ive increased the brush size as much as possible (50.0) and its not covering the whole entire text which results in it cutting off when I change it to reveal original image. What should I do????

Make your text smaller so that the brush stroke can cover the text. Then make a pre comp and scale it up to the size you want.

I haven’t actually tried that but I think it should work.

    Third (possible!) solution:

You could try adding a simple choker effect to the text layer below the stroke effect. Set the value into negative numbers. Now when you animate the stroke’s start/end properties, you should see the text plus a border being revealed. We don’t want to see the border, so duplicate the text layer and, on the bottom instance, delete both effects and set the track matte to alpha.
