Posted by Jeff Schroeder on November 9, 2011 at 6:03 pmI get an error from Vegasaur when starting up Vegas 11. I have uninstalled and re-installed Vegasaur 1.5
The error:
SystemTypeInitializationException… System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. blah, blah blah…Anyone else have this problem?

November 9, 2011 at 8:26 pmHi Jeff,
Got the same error here. Installing version 1.6 fixed it, Vegasaur now runs as expected.
Kind regards, Michel

November 9, 2011 at 9:39 pmYou do need Vegasaur 1.6 as posted above.
Works great in V11. I also used it to import all my settings and templates from V10 to V11, saved me a lot of time.

November 10, 2011 at 9:26 pmYou would really have to look at both of the sites to make a comparison. They cover some of the same ground but each has enough unique functions that I need both of them.

November 11, 2011 at 2:35 amThanks Jeff. Very diplomatic indeed. ;o)
Can I phrase it another way…If you could only afford one, which do you find most useful? IE: Which would you buy?
Don’t mean to put you on the spot, but I don’t really want to purchase both, and they appear to perform very similar functions. I imagine there are others out there who may pitch in on this question.Cheers,

It would be very hard for me to choose. I didn’t buy either of them, my work did. I am allowed to install Vegasaur at home, but not UltimateS. I use them both on each project. I honestly can’t decide which I would choose. John Rofrano worked on UltimateS and Ed Troxel made Vegasaur. Both are great guys, both are active on this forum. Check out the trial versions of them and let me know what you think.

November 11, 2011 at 5:46 amEd Troxel made Excalibur. A completely different app. I have all three and if I had to pick one I would pick Vegasaur. They are all good and each brings something a little different. Vegasaur has a more polished GUI and they seem to be working on and updating the app fairly regularly.

November 11, 2011 at 7:59 amThanks guys. I really appreciate your input. That’s what makes this forum so great – people who work with the tools, who solve problems while creating…and who are willing to share! (Now, if we could only get the politicians and bankers of the world to do the same…)
Cheers,
Bruce
