I was given a harddrive with .mov raw files. When I attempted to import them into Vegas Pro 10, it said that Quicktime could not initialize, so forth. I have the latest version of Quicktime, which supposedly includes ‘authoring support’.

Do you have any advice on this? (and yes, I did a fresh uninstall/install of Quicktime)

By “raw”, do you mean unedited or something else?
I work with ProRes files (1280 x 720 and 1920 x 1080) from a local post house quite a bit and have never had any problems.

Honestly I can’t figure out how they recorded the files. No drag and drop support. I LOOKS like they used iMovie, which would be par for the course since the footage looks horrendous now that I’ve seen it.

Quicktime Pro was able to render it out, but not without problem. I believe it is a file issue on their end.

BUT, even after installing the latest version of Quicktime I still can’t drop anything in Vegas. Very strange.
