  Capture stutter

  My capture stutters and keeps creating new clips despite the fact that I’ve shot one long clip. All looks good when I just view it in my camera or through the Vegas capture but when I actually start the capture it stutters similar to what you might see when trying to view a project on a slow computer and then it creates numerous clips when I only should have one clip.
  I’ve tried several tapes and all do the same thing. I’ve unchecked “fail on dropped frames” so that’s not the problem.
  I’ve even unchecked “enable scene detection” but it still creates numerous clips.
  I’ve tried Vegas 9 and 10 with the same results.
  What the heck is going on? Any ideas.
