On any Microsoft Word program I can go into “symbols” to use the copyright symbol in my word file. How do I get that symbol so I can have a title graphic that says: C 2011 etc.

Alt 0169 will give you the © symbol. copyright

Alt 0174 will give you the ® symbol. registered trademark

Mike: Thank you for getting right back on this, however that did not work, instead a spreadsheet comes up that is labeled “Edit Details”. Now just to be clear, I placed the typing cursor right before the year and held the ALT key down while typing “0169”
Did I get that part right?
(I clicked on several fields of the spreadsheet to no avail.)
    Thanks,

    Mims

It does work, but only when you use the numeric numbers on the right side.
If you use the numbers on top, you will ger the spreadsheet you mentioned.

Thanks for pointing that out, Theo. I never gave that a thought as I always use the numbers keypad for the shortcuts.

    I hope this helped, William

William, just as an FYI, you can use any text symbols you want in Vegas.
The easiest way is to go (on an XP machine) Start – Programs – Accessories – System Tools – Character Map.
Choose the font you want, click on the symbol and it will give you the correct keystrokes to use.
This lets you use symbols such as ©, ®, ±, ¢, etc. etc.
