Instant Rendering?
Hi guys, got a weird problem going on. I recently rendered out a wedding video I’ve been working on. The video’s about 2 hrs long and the rendering of the mpg and the ac3 file went fine. The last time I worked on the video, I decided to change the Dialog Normalization from the default -31 dB to -3, because I kept the master audio from spiking above -3, between -3 and -6. After reading Mike Kujbida’s excellent post on rendering (https://forums.creativecow.net/thread/24/892039#892054), I decided to go back and change Dialog Normalization back to -31dB, and Line Mode Profile and RF Mode Profile to None, as advised by Mike. When I went to Render the audio, the rendering process was instant, like 0 seconds to process it. I had this happen once while rendering the video portion of the project and found that it was happening because the “Render Loop Region Only” box was checked in the “Render As” dialog box. After un-checking it, it rendered the entire video fine. I figured that the box was checked again this time, but it’s not. As a matter of fact, the “Render Loop Region Only” box is grayed out. So my question is, why would this happen? It has always taken several minutes to render out the audio for this 2 hour movie. Any idea why the rendering of the audio this time is instant, as if it’s not really rendering it at all? It’s almost as if it’s rendering about a 10 second spot of audio, or less. It’s got me baffled. Any ideas?

Marc, that’s happened to me a few times too.
For some strange reason, Vegas remembers that it’s already rendered the audio file and says to itself “I already did that once so I’m not doing it again”.
I delete the previously rendered AC-3 file and then things render as expected.
You may need to close the project and re-open it for Vegas to smarten up after deleting the original AC-3 file, just to teach it a lesson as to who’s boss 🙂
