Eliminating the wide black line at the top and bottom of my DVD videos
Upgraded from Sony Movie Studio 8.0 with DVD Architect Studio 4.5 to Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum 11.0 with DVD Architect Studio 5.0. My family DVD videos, when processed with the new software continue to show a wide black line at the top and bottom of the image. How do I setup the software so I can put a full screen image in the videos.

Are you rendering a 16 x 9 event to 4 x 3 aspect ratio? This is called letter box. Try rendering to 16 x 9 or widescreen format.

Danny, I set both my Vegas Studio HD Platinum and DVD Architect Studio to 16 X 9 widescreen and redid the video. The lines at the top and bottom of the completed DVD video still exist. I’m working with a captured Facebook video of my granddaughter and her cheerleading team. Her mom did the video then put it on Facebook. If the original video was copied in HD would that put the lines at the top and bottom and I was merely copying them in the video? This thing has really got me stumped. Old men get confused easily!!!!

Age is no barrier. Some of the best editors I know are enlisted in the Grey Army.
If it is in the original video you can use Event pan/crop tool to slightly zoom in on the video. You will need to apply this to the entire event.
If this is happening on all your projects, there could be a fundamental step you are missing, such as when rendering. eg. select Render as…Tick Stretch Video to fill output frame size (do not letter box).
