    Hello all,
I am running into a weird and VERY annoying problem with After Effects CS4. When I save a project file, the file “saves” but when I close the file and open it again, none of my progress has actually been saved. Luckily I have been able to recover via auto-saves, but sometimes I do not have a recent one that has my latest work on it. It’s annoying to setup auto-save every 5 minutes in order to not lose all of my work.

Has anyone ever run into this problem before? As I am sure you could imagine, it is VERY annoying and with deadlines approaching, it really sucks.

Also, I am saving the project files to my local drive with my permissions setup correctly.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

First off, perform a check on the expiry date of your coffee.

Kinda silly, but check to ensure that you’re looking into the right folder when you open the file. The File>Recent Projects menu item works well here. Also look into using the incremental save command under the File menu.

    Good Luck

Ha! My coffee is a little old, but I do usually use the “Recent Project” option. I have gone as far as saving the project to my desktop, making changes, saving, then re=opening the desktop file… Still doesn’t hold the changes…

    Thanks

this is fixed in the 9.01 update. autosaves used to disable normal saves.

I can confirm what Chris said. I strongly recommend installing the update.

I installed it yesterday… We’ll see how it goes today. I am sure this will work (crossing fingers).

    Thanks
