I’m looking for a “workflow” for logging footage. I have used markers in the timeline to add notes, when printed it gives me time code in points, quite useful. I tried to do the same with the trim bin, but cannot figure out how to print the markers/notes out, this is easy to do in the timeline. I want to add markers to clips with descriptions and then be able to print them all out to organize my edit. Is this possible?

Started using media manager (longer project) I see I can insert short scene descriptions, but nothing like the notes I have been using in markers. Adding information within the clip does not seem possible, or is it?

What is your procedure for logging footage with VP9? Can it be done within the program, or is their another program that works with VP and would give me clip/TC info with my written notes. I would rather not go back to using excel and typing all the clip info/TC info as well as my notes.

    Thank you,
    Malcolm

Press Alt+6 and select “Events”. You can use “Active Take Name” or “Tape Name” fields for your notes.
You can also select all this information and copy-paste it to Excel. Click left top cell to select and Ctrl+C to copy. Hope this helps.

I found that technique works in the timeline but not in the trimmer or in the media bin.

I also notice that I am able to save markers in the trimmer with .avi files but NOT .mov files? is this normal? Still can’t print them out from the trimmer.
