  • Exporting a .wmv leaves a small border of color

When I export my .wmv files they are 720X360, with a 23.976 frame rate. the pixel aspect ratio is 1. the “mode” is quality VBR and the “format” is windows media video 9. quality is at 100%.

The only way I can describe the problem is a strange border of color. It won’t be around every shot, only some. It’s probably only a pixel wide, and it’s only viewable in certain media players (ie. you can see the border in windows media player or the VLC media player, but not the microsoft ZUNE player). it’s also only viewable if you full screen the image.

the border’s colors also become more and less apparent, because they will use the colors of the actual shot that’s playing in the movie. so if there was an underwater scene with a lot of contrast, there might be a lot of bright blues and dark blacks moving along the border until the shot was done.

it seems like maybe it’s an encoding/decoding error or something, since it’s more apparent in certain media players.

    any ideas?

Make sure your project setting resolution is the same as the render resolution to keep things from moving, shifting.
