Best format for re-editing in Sony Vegas
I’ve been searching for days on my inquiry, and this seems to be the best site. Hopefully someone can help me out.
Question:
First, my question is, what is the best quality I can save to, in order to re-edit videos?Setup:
I have a HD PVR recorder and record video to .m2ts files. I currently use Sony Vegas 10 and want to save certain clips from the “master” .m2ts video files to use for editing towards another project. After searching the web, it seems the Cineform codec was the best to use. But I need to use Sony Vegas 10 to “clip” out parts of the video. Not the Cineform program to convert whole clip.
I’ve read that Sony Vegas has a form of Cineform codec already built in, but I can’t seem to locate it under “Render As” setting.
Is there another video format that is in Sony Vegas that I can use?
Any info would be appreciated.
