    HI
when I stat the program up and add my project to the time line the preview is red.
I just doubled my system memory to 6GB
I can fix this problem by starting up
Fire fox Now back to V10 and the preview is not there WTF is this a driver problem or something in fire fox that is now running that was not running before?
The other problem happens when I cancel something the program just hand up and will not close which causes me to reboot.
    Thanks for any help

What version of Vegas are you using? It could be a codec compatibility issue.

What video file format are you trying to load? Vegas generally does not support DIVX and is a bit touchy with certain versions of Quicktime mp4’s.

One way to tell is highlight the file in Vegas’ Explorer window. If Vages recognises the audio and video stream, it displays information about the file.

Sony Vegas will not encode QuickTime h.264 files.

You use the Sony AVC “render as” preset and select the highest resolution with the = in front (this means that the preset matches your project parameters). Then use Apple Quick Time Pro (it’s not free, but reasonably cheap) to make the QT file.

You might also want to search this forum for Quicktime and read the threads.

This program a real piece of junk
I did find a work around. I used Windows movie maker to edit and make a movie I did not see how to add a narration. So I took the wmv file and loaded it into Vegas 10 and added the narration. It all worked like it should no red screen did not have it hang and I did render an HD movie with out a memory problem.
It only took me 35 hours to figure this out. Now I will load it to youtube and see how it looks
Thanks for all the help . I think I would still be having problem trying to make it work. It took this to figure out the work around.
Maybe some one has the knowledge to use this program properly
    Thanks
