    Hi All

Just a quick question. If I apply a video mute envelope between two events spaced appart on the same track. Does Vegas render the muted section of the track?
Just wondering whether appling mutes to the unused portions of a track with multiple spaced appart events, Will reduce the rendering overheads by not having to render the muted sections and speed the process up a little bit.

    Cheers

I would believe it doesn’t render space between events even with an envelope there, as there is no video data to render. You could easily do some small test renders to see though.

    Hi

From past experience if there is no envelope the unused space between spaced apart events appears to be rendered as a black frame which is composited with the other tracks.

If you fully mute a track by clicking the mute button vegas does not render the muted track. So bearing this in mind my question still stands. Added to it. Is applying a mute envelope the same as clicking the mute button. If so I would assume that Vegas does not render muted segments of the track. I can find no mention in the Vegas user manual.

    cheers
