So I go to render my video into a WMV (I can inlcude rendering options if you want) and it sometimes starts going only to about 2% and then it says the “Problem, memory too low to render”. A lot of the time it just stops completely and it gives me the option to send error report before closing. What I can’t understand is one, why is it doing this now when nothing has changed on my computer and it worked before. Two, how can I close more unwanted programs to try and maximize memory? I have made the graphics bad and changed options to make my computer have more performance but it doesn’t really help too much. This program has progressively gotten more buggy and harder to use the longer I’ve had it. Sometimes in the timeline the preview becomes red and I can only hear audio. Can you help?

    Specs:
    Windows 7/64bit
    4g Ram
    Pentium Processor

WMV rendering is very problematic in Vegas unfortunately. I would render to some other format and convert to WMV with Microsoft’s tools outside of Vegas if you absolutely, must have a WMV file.

i have recently experienced the same problem.
no matter how many calls to customer service the problem still continued to exist. But, then i realized that the version I am using has got to be at leat 6 mothes to a year old so i figured there must be some updates available that may fix the problem. poking around in the drop down menues i stumbled upon an option.

Click the “Edit” tab; then click “clear edit history”. sony vegas saves every editing function to provide a history database for your project recording every click you make within your project from the moment you begin. (i do not know how to view them). sony explains while clearing the editing history that this will greatly increase disk space and reduce memory costs. so i cleared the editing history and started rendering to burn a DVD and it worked!

please note i am an amature when using this software and probably wont be able to answer further questions. this is just something i stumbled upon after many options in attempting to solve the problem. it worked and i am currently satisfied.
    i hope this helps!
