I have six tracks, bottom two are stereo audio. next two are .MOV footage, next two are AVCHD as are the next two. After working fine with them for 30 minutes or so, some of them, like the audio tracks become muted and I cannot unmute them. I was muting them, and moving the tracks around to sync the shots. It does not appear to be repairable by shutting down and restarting.

I’ve been working with footage from the same cameras for the last 24 hours. This has not been a problem up to now.

Has anyone encountered this before? Any ideas?

    Vegas 10.c 64 bit. W7 64 bit, 8GBs RAM.

I was hoping that it was my media. I hate it when someone else has the same problem because that is a strong indication of a bug. Can you easily replicate the problem?

I have a project where this happened. And it’s repeatable.

I have an animation that was imported from 1700 JPG images. There’s some introductory AVI in front of it and some summary AVI after it. Pretty simple. The only change is that the animation was sped up (ctrl-drag) to match the underlying narration.

Rendered a new AVI just fine. Made some minor tweaks to the brightness/contrast of the animation, and boom. The preview is as if the track was not even there.

Exit Vegas, reload the project, and it’s back.

So here’s what I’ve found out. After restarting the program twice, it appears that my solo icons have all be checked. Now, I certainly know enough to know that it’s very hard to beleive I could have done that, since I have been working with variations on this footage for a couple of days. The reason I suspect a bug is that I tried checking and unchecking all the usual suspects, solo, mute ,etc, and they did not change anything. After restarting twice, the solo buttons apparently worked. I have no idea why.

I have a lot more to do with this concert with four cameras and audio track, I’ll likely be at it for the next week. If it happens again and I can capture how it happened, I’ll let us know.
