    Hello,

I rendered my movie using WMV and MP4, quality WMV is much better than that of MP4. Of course the reason for this is because MP4 is much more compressed, but is this the nature of MP4 or can I do something to increase quality of the movie? Here are my settings of MP4 rendering:

    Frame Size: 1440 x 900
    Profile: baseline
    Frame Rate: 29
    Pixel order: none
    Pixel aspect ratio: 1.3333
    Number of reference frames: 2
    Maximum bps: 768,000
    Average bps: 2,000,000

I tried increasing maximum bps to 2,000,000 but then Vegas crashes. I have Intel Core Duo 3 Ghz with 3 GB RAM so machine should handle it?

So, is the quality of MP4 worse compared to WMV because of the BPS settings or something else?

    Here are the movies:
    WMV
    MP4

    Thanks,
    Alex

Yes, I can het very good guality mp4s by increasing the bitrate.

Thanks. I’ll try to increase and see why Vegas crashes at high bit rates.

Also, what bit rate values are you using?
