Rendering a project to 1280-720p mp4, 854-480p mp4, 720-480p mpg. The small mp4 (Sony AVC) and the mpg (MainConcept) have very small slivers of black on each side; i.e., they don’t fill the entire width whereas the 1280 version is exact.

    Is this expected?

    Using Vegas 10c, 64-bit.
    Thanks in advance.

Yes because 1280×720 is 16:9. 854×480 is not. 853.3333×480 is 16:9 but you can’t have 0.3333 of a pixel which is why you get slight (0.6666) black bars. Try using Stretch video to fill output frame size (no not letterbox) and see if it removes them. This may soften the output so you might just want to live with it.
