Sony Vegas Pro 10 Trial. Full HD .m2ts files 16Mb/s bitrate, video pixalated
Hello
I am using the trial version of Pro10. I have video footage with 24Mb/s bitrate, HD 1080-60i (1920×1080; 29,970 fps). When i render it down to 16Mb/s bitrate from .MTS to .m2ts, the video becomes pixalated on green trees. Looks like the parts are moving sideways. Even if i leave the bitrate at ther original 24Mb/s the problem remains.

Bitrate not withstanding, what kind of camera was used to acquire the content?
Also, are you rendering from interlaced to progressive?Douglas Spotted Eagle

.MTS files come from Sony HD camcorders and i used the same 1080i to 1080i I tested everything. Just found a few sources stating that .MTS is difficult to edit and render as it’s a highly compressed file format. I was still hoping that Sony Vegas would think about this issue but i guess Sony camcorders record video that can never be edited without lost quality.

You didn’t say what your PC specs are, but AVCHD requires a lot of processor horsepower. My quad-core 3GHz PC is barely enough to handle AVCHD files, but it works. You also don’t say where you are looking? Preview, final encoded DVD, You Tube?

I have a very powerful machine. Processor Intel Core i7 2720QM with up to 3.3Ghz with ram 16GB DDR3 1600 MHz (4 x 4GB). I am editing for blu ray and rendering from original Sony .MTS to m2ts Anything i try gives me really bad tremmor in the closeups, like shifting sideways.

I am having difficulty imaging your problem in my mind. If you encode for web, does the problem still appear or is it only in preview?

If i encode to .avi the problem diappears but the file size becomes monsterous. I need this video for blu ray burning. Here is what i posted on the same issue at some other forum step by step without missing anything:
“Ok my work flow is like this: I have .MTS files 1080i 24Mbps bitrate on my camcorder.. I take the USB cable and take lets say 1 video from AVCHD folder with .MTS format and load it to Sony Vegas Pro2 (trial) I have the following project settings: HD 1080-60i 29,970fps Audio 5.1 surround. For the test i don’t edit anything but straight render to Sony AVC m2ts 16Mbps or any… All the bitrates and all the project settings have been tried. “

I need to render to m2ts.. I wonder if its possible. I will have to decide on purchasing Sony Vegas.. If its not capable to renter AVCHD properly, i will just not need it!

I render to m2ts all the time. It’s so good that I use it as an intermediate sometimes. As I’ve tried to say, I can’t visualize your problem from the description.
