    Hey..

I have been working with AE CS3 for a while now, and I have decided to buy a camera so that I can get creative and produce some movies:)

However, I am kind of lost right now in deciding which camera to go for.
For a while I thought I was going to go for Canon hv30, but now I am more like buying the Sony HDR-SR11E. I know that many people have had trouble with the AVCHD or m2ts format, but storing on a harddrive just seem a lot easier than shooting on Mini-DV tapes.

What do you guys think I should go for? The hv30 or the sr11, or maybe something different? My budget is around $1200, and I want to be very careful so that I get the best video quality for that money.

If your going for the 24p Canon hv30 settings, you’re gonna have huge pains setting/tricking the shutter to 1/48th. Here’s a fantastic website.

Your budget will need to include extra batteries/lenses too. I haven’t seen in person the HD Panasonic HDC-SD100/300 but in HD youtube has a full manual control sliding ring/memory stick, great 24p motion, and nice saturation.

This website is really cool for comparisons and even has recorded stills to compare quality.
