  When Rendering My Computer Shutdowns!

  I know this is an old subject, but I’m hoping someone has figured out a way to deal with Vegas Pro problems rendering projects. I have a deadline in two days and unfortunately can’t finish it. I have a 64 bit Windows and 4GB RAM.

  Some notes on my specific problem:

  1. My project includes a couple of subclips of football video from different sources. They are all in a MP4 file. All import and work in Vegas Pro 7.0c, at least for editing.
  2. In addition to video clips, I’m also using video effects (Magic Bullet Looks).
  3. I’m rendering to Windows Media Video V9 Widescreen HD. Total project is about 2:21 minutes long.

  What I know about my crashes:
  1. I’m running on a Windows 7 64 bit Sony Vaio with Intel Core i3 CPU 2.13 GHz, M 330, processor and 4 GBytes of RAM.
  2. Vegas is running on my system drive it has 86,3 Gb free out of 289 GB
  3. With just about any setting, Vegas crashes within the first few minutes of rendering.

  Magic Bullet Looks is well known to be a real render hog as is rendering to WMV.
  My suggestion is to render to AVI in the appropriate HD size.
  Start a new project, import the AVI file and render that to WMV.

  Try not to render to Windows Media Video V9 Widescreen HD.
  Try rendering your work to a different format and see if it
  still fails. Also i know from some users who experience
  render failure when they are using Magic Bullet Looks Effects….
  try rendering without it first, also.
