Offline Media solution
A problem cropped up recently, all my media was offline, no matter what I did I could not link it back to VP 9e. After a lot of searching, this forum was helpful, I found that all my sharing and permissions of the files were gone? how weird, though I did just do an update to win7, so go figure.
I was opening up each media file and changing “ownership” and permissions, going crazy because I had hundreds to do…
Found a Win7 plug in on a windows chat board called “take ownership” fixed the entire drive in seconds!

1. set a restore point and label it! No exceptions.
2. install software, it auto installs to regrestry.
3. right click on a file folder, not the entire drive, and drag to “take ownership”
4 do this for each folder on your drive, and you are done.
5. do not do this with the C drive, warning in software, all my media files are on a raid anyway, but there was a cautionary note.Good luck
