DVD ARCH 5 auto menu play ?
Posted by Ed Mcree on February 16, 2011 at 2:12 pmIs there a way in DVD arch.5 to have a menu based DVD that will play all menu items one after another automatically?
So you don’t have to go back to the menu to play the next selection..

February 17, 2011 at 1:48 amThey are separate files. I made a DVD with all five files. You have to go back to the menu to play the next file.
I would like to have a way to set up the DVD so when you play it, it would just play all files one after another. Is there a way I could set it up so it would play all files without having to select each file seperately. -

February 17, 2011 at 1:47 pmI normally render my Vegas timeline with all 5 files on it and use markers to designate a new chapter.
Since you did it differently though, here’s my suggestion.
Add the files in DVDA by double-clicking each one in the Explorer window to have them all come up on the main menu.
Once all 5 are there, go to the menu on the left side of the screen (all 5 should be listed there) and double-click the first one.
Now go to the menu on the right, click the “End Actions” tab, click the drop-down menu next to “Destination” and select file #2.
Repeat as necessary. -

February 17, 2011 at 3:07 pmAnother cool trick is to be able to have these clips as buttons that the user can play one at a time and also have a button above them that is a “Play All”. Here’s how:
– Let’s say you have three clips, names “C1”, “C2” & “C3”.
– Drag all three to your Project Overview. Then drag all three to the menu, now you have three buttons that play each individually.
– Now again drag C1 to the Project Overview. Then rename this asset to “C1-All”. Do the same for the other two, renaming “C2-All” and “C3-All”, respectively.
– Now double-click “C1-All” and set the “End Action” attribute to play “C2-All”. Do the same for “C2-All” setting it to play “C3-All” as an end action.
– Now add a new empty button labeled “Play All” and set it’s Action/Destination to play “C1-All”.Now you will have a Play All button as well as separate buttons for each clip. The best part of this is that DVDA will not actually add the duplicated video clips to the project, leaving the project size pretty much the same. It simply uses the new name with new attributes while still using the same actual asset.
