  .jp2 file strange pattern instead of transparency?

  i’m having a mystical problem with a .jp2 sequence rendered from cinema4d. it shows a very strange pattern in areas that should be totally transparent. https://i44.tinypic.com/whmruv.png
  the pattern becomes visible in color correction eventhough it’s there all the time. i’m wondering whether this is a problem with c4d or how AE is handling the jp2 file. has anyone stumbled upon something like this? the AE project is 16 bit 720p. any response is much apprechiated, thanks.

  The most common reason is interpreted as premultiplied instead of straight or try channel-remove color matting.

  thanks Chris for the swift reply! i tried changing the interpretation and it changed the pattern to a bit less visible though didn’t fully remove it, i wonder if the pattern is in the file itself? i however got rid of the pattern by tweaking the curves>alpha just a bit. i still need to figure out a decent solution for this problem, but the curves will do for now.
