I recently bought a Canon HD video camera that records to SD memory card. The video format when loaded on to my computer is .MTS. When I attempt to open this in my Sony Vegas 6.0 program it states it is an unsupported video format. Does anyone know how to get this format video to work in Vegas? Thanks in advance.

I think you may want to upgrade Vegas. Expecting a 5-6 year old program to support the latest HD formats is a bit unrealistic.

*.mts file open fine in my version of Vegas 8.
If you’re referring to Pro 8, make sure you’re using the latest version (Pro 8.0c) as it had a lot of bug fixes for this format.

Is it Vegas Pro or is it Vegas Movie Studio?
Have you ever installed a codec pack?

It is Vegas movie studio 8.0c. And I have never installed a Codec pack. Will that help?

    That helps a lot.
You need a newer version of the program as support for this file format wasn’t added until version 9.0.
