    Hi,

I was running Vegas 9.0c on Win XP and my preview display through the Blackmagic Intensity Pro card on my HD monitor worked quite nicely. I could preview on the HD display in various modes (Best – Half ect.)

Now I’ve rebuilt my system using Win 7 64 bit and Vegas 10c 64 bit and the display doesn’t work so well. If I have my preview set to Preview (Full) it displays a nice image of the timeline when paused but when I hit play the display goes to black. If I choose Preview (Half) for example the HD display remains black.

In short I had a very satisfactory experience using the Blackmagic card in Vegas 9 on XP and not very good experience under Win 7 and Vegas 10.

    Any suggestions?

Make sure you have the newest drivers installed, have the newest version of Vegas (10c).
Also, it would depend on if you are using the same media and effects. If you have started editing something in vegas like AVCHD and such it takes a TON more CPU power than DV or something like that. If you have an old project that you are SURE ran fine in XP w/Vegas 9 try it! Also, you can run Vegas 9 and 10 on the same system so try that and see if you still have issues, and try an A/B comparison.

Yes to 10c, yes to latest BM drivers.

My basic test is to create a 1080i project and drop in mt2 files (HDV – mpeg2 1440 x 1080).

Under XP Vegas 9c if I selected Best (half) it displayed fine. Now using that setting it is black. In fact, the only setting where I can get a display on the BM card is Preview (full), Best (full), Good (full) and that disappears when I hit play. Any other setting doesn’t display through the card at all.

If I use my Windows Secondary Device it previews fine.

Is anybody else using Vegas 10c and an Intensity Pro card succesfully?

Go back and try Vegas 9.0e 64bit
Then let me know if everything previews properly.

Win 7 Vegas pro 10a with the Intensity Shuttle seems to work fine.

That is a good suggestion as it’ll help determine whether it is the BM drivers or Vegas.

Problem though – where do I get a hold of Vegas 9.0c 64bit? I’ve checked the Sony site but can’t seem to locate it.

    Here is what I’ve discovered:

Vegas 9.0c (64bit) — works pretty good. I get preview in all the modes through my BMD Intensity Pro

Vegas 9.0e (64bit) — performs similar to Vegas 10.0c (64bit). I can only get a preview through the BMD Card if Preview is set to Full. It differs from 10c in that when I hit play when it is on Full it continues to display through the BMD card whereas in 10.0c it goes to black.

One Note: I can only run the trial versions for 9.0. My 10 serial is not valid. Is there a way to get 9 working longer than the trial?

Is there a way to report the bug officially to Sony?

    Thanks for all your suggestions?
