This might solve a lot of problems (Rendering 1080p 50fps @25Mbs)

I’m new here.
I been using Vegas 10 for a couple of months now I have just created a 3.5 min video (m2t). At Full HD & 50fps progressive scan. With all the video quality settings at max. And with 32 bit full colour range pixels.
I have a Panasonic SD600 and was asked to film a dance show in Full HD.
I created the vid from some clips which were slowed down.
There was a background video running.
The were numerous media generators and FX’s added.
Overall there were 26 tracks on the timeline.I suffered all the same problems that many have suffered from what I have read here and on other forums. The most common being low memory failed renders. I tried numerous formats and codecs Had a couple of successful renders at 720p 50fps but only with 8 bit pixels. The results were OK but the colour was very bland.
I settled on m2t as the container and considered exactly what the computer has to do in order render the video. The The problem is memory management. In order to render there must be as much memory as possible, which is a little difficult when Win 7 x32 can only use 3.2Gb.
The trick to get this to work was to use the resorce monitor and watch the commit charge to memory. Every time it would rise to the point where the commit limit is reached and the low memory error occurs.So I decided to start playing with the virtual memory. After few test runs, It worked after getting the pagefile set to 16Gb. The commit charge getting lower and more settled. And this was only rendering one compositing pair of tracks. (A mask track and video track with various FX as well).
If a pagefile this size is needed for one 3.5 min full HD track. Would probably have to use a pagefile closer to 100Gb maybe more, to render the whole video. (Not really pracitcal)So use a huge pagefile and render the tracks to create a series of compositing tracks. (6 full HD tracks each about 700Mb in size in my case). That way All media generators
will be rendered in as well.Open a new project with all the same settings add the compositing tracks and audio track
Again at the same render settings render all together into the Final Video. Therefore the only thing Vegas has to do is composite and render the tracks into one.Played it at 1080p. Stunning crisp detail lovely well balance colour and no noticeable defects with motion.
The only drawback is the that the rendering process at this the is very slow.
Even on my Quad core i5 machine @2.8GHz . Just doing the 6 compositing tracks it could only manage to to render at about 2 – 3 frames a sec with active video and at max on black frames 8 – 10 frame a sec. And only 2 frames a sec on the final render.The cores are all maxed out. But the commit charge through the whole process of rendering down to final, it never rose above 12%.
The good thing i’ve found with m2t container is that it easily converts to other file formats.
So for those have problems. the above may be a solution.Hope this helps.
As a further future plan I’m going to upgrade to an SSD for the OS and vegas, To hopefully improve the read/writes times to the page file. Maybe someone can answer that?
